Morgan Sheeley is a Classical guitarist based in Victoria, BC. Morgan is an active performer, performing in many events during the year, his most popular being the Victoria Guitar Society’s Open Mic Night held at Good Earth Cafe in the Oak Bay Village. This year he also won the Greater Victoria Performing Arts Festival in the senior division of guitar. He continued on to compete in the Provincial Festival where he came runner up in the senior division. Morgan was also the recipient of the Helen B. Turner and Bradley James A. Turner scholarship.
Morgan enjoys playing a variety of styles, going back and forth between acoustic and electric guitar, though his true passion is Classical Guitar, ranging from the Renaissance to Romantic Era, especially the music of Villa-Lobos, Giuliani, and Sor.
Morgan started his guitar training at a young age, studying with Bradford Werner of This is Classical Guitar, at the Victoria Conservatory of Music (VCM). Morgan is now going into his second year of the Diploma in Music Performance program at the VCM through Camosun College studying with Michael Dias of the Victoria Guitar Trio. This coming year Morgan will be continuing his piano studies under the new instruction of the well-loved Victoria pianist, Robert Holliston.
